World Mental Health Day

It is okay to not be okay. It is okay to feel anxious. It is okay to feel sad. It is okay to be obsessive. Mental illness has conflicted 1 in 5 adults in America, and 1 in 25 adults live with a serious mental illness. The stigma behind these illnesses have isolated at least 18.5% of our population each year (NAMI website). Lokai has teamed up with the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) to help bring awareness. Each Orange Lokai will help fund the NAMI HelpLine, giving people with mental health conditions a safe place to talk and receive the support they need. Together, we can facilitate conversation and help end the stigma against mental illness.

5 Tips for Improving Mental Health

1. Value Yourself

~Take some time from the day to pamper yourself! Whether it’s some alone time, or showering yourself in jewels to improve your self confidence, taking time for you is essential to a happy and healthy mind!

2. Log Off and Take a Stroll Outside

~We know you love scrolling our Instagram and Facebook posts on your chosen device, but studies show that being in fresh air and being off of technology improves our mental state. If you are having a bad day, just take a walk outside and your day should be brightened.

3. Embrace Gratitude

~ Before going to sleep or after waking up, write down three things you are thankful for in your life. Whether that be your shiny diamond earrings, your incredible friends, or even your relaxing sleep the night before, it is so very important to recognize the great things in your life, and reflect on them as often as you possibly can.

4. Engage in Self Care

~A little confidence booster goes a long way. Finding the perfect outfit with matching shoes, and your hair and makeup done, can make you feel like a million bucks! We can’t forget about the accessories from Emery’s, too. Maybe a rose gold hoop or a fancy diamond pendant can complete the look you need.

5. Exercise

~Work that body! It is proven that 30 minutes of exercise can clear the mind and leave you with a better day overall. We promise the physical toll will be so worth it when your mind is free from any anxieties and the stress of everyday life.
